A retired GI doctor, Bob likes to say that’s where he developed his highly advanced finger control, now on display as a guitarist with White Collar Crime. Also a cartoonist, but “folks only laugh at my guitar playing.”

Ask Tom Surkamp what brings him joy, the answer is 3-fold: family, music and friends. As a vocalist, keyboard player and guitarist for White Collar Crime, he thoroughly enjoys all three.

Starting piano at age 6 and guitar at 11, like many performers, his first performance was in church. But if variety puts the tingle in the jingle, Tom welcomed the chance to play many different musical styles...folk and bluegrass, big band and musical theater, lots of rock bands, a soul band, polka band and even backing a belly dancer.

Between times, he managed to raise a family, have a successful marketing and creative career, retire, and enjoy life.

Dean Mutter

Drums

As the newest member of WCC Band...it’s all about the beat.  Dean’s been playing percussion in a variety of bands for 50+ years, starting on drums, then adding congas over the past 20 years. However, with the WCC Band he’s focused exclusively on drums and helps drive WCC’s beat while keeping it fresh.  He’s also a jazz fan and on-air personality at the NPR Music Station for the St. Louis area, WSIE 88.7FM, The Sound.  He can be heard weekends from 3-7p (Sat & Sun) as Dean Harlow.    

Dean is a Chicago native and retired Radio/TV advertising executive.  He’s lived in St. Louis for the past 30+ years with career stops at KSHE/KPNT/KFTK, Spectrum Reach/Charter Media and 9PBS.

Carley Surkamp

Vocals

Carley has been singing with various groups in STL for over 2 decades. Vocal influences include Bonnie Raitt and Christine McVie, but the music tastes come directly from her family. Carley enjoys a good gin and tonic and bringing down the median age of White Collar Crime by at least half.
